Wyoming is home to over 28 million acres of productive farm and ranch land, with 93% of these operations being family-owned and managed. Without the long-term protection of these lands, Wyoming risks losing not only its vital agricultural resources, but also the livelihoods of the families who steward those lands, critical wildlife habitats, and expansive open spaces.
Project Highlight
In April 2024, the Land Trust celebrated a significant milestone—conserving 300,000 acres in Wyoming. This achievement was made possible through partnerships with 92 families, who collectively placed 121 easements on working agricultural lands. The Land Trust was founded in response to the growing interest in conservation among Wyoming’s producers, and the preservation of 300,000 acres over 24 years underscores just how crucial this effort is to them.
