Land Trust Member Profile: Jackson Hole Land Trust

Mission & Key Programs

Mission: The Jackson Hole Land Trust’s mission is to protect and steward Northwest Wyoming landscapes for current and future generations. We envision a legacy of resilient open spaces, wildlife habitat, working lands, and community places, forever protected across Northwest Wyoming.

We partner with families to steward the rich ecology and agricultural vitality of Northwest Wyoming. We support landowners and managers in maintaining and enhancing the unique conservation values of their land. Together, we sustain the ecological integrity, legacy of working landscapes, and scenic open spaces that make Northwest Wyoming so special.

Service Area

Northwest Wyoming: Jackson Hole, Wind River Valley, Park County, and Green River Valley.

Since 1980, we’ve championed working lands and wildlife in Northwest Wyoming. What began with a focus on Jackson Hole has expanded to include Fremont, Park, Sublette, and even Sweetwater counties in recognition that migrating wildlife do not see county lines, and communities across Northwest Wyoming are now facing similar development pressures.

We protect and manage places where community is built such as Greenspace on the Block and R Park, which offer connection to the outdoors in the heart of Jackson Hole.

Unique in the Heart of the Rockies Region

Northwest Wyoming is home to some of the world’s longest-known ungulate migration routes, many of which radiate from our national parks across a patchwork of private land.

By partnering with local families, we safeguard clear-flowing water and essential wildlife habitat while protecting cultural legacies.
