National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Grassland Resilience and Conservation Initiative

Heart of the Rockies Initiative is excited to partner with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation through the Grassland Resilience and Conservation Initiative to support wildlife, ranching operations, rural communities, healthy soils, and water resources. This partnership will support local ranchers in Montana, Idaho, and Washington voluntarily conserve working agricultural lands and wildlife habitat in partnership with several of our land trust members:

Flathead Land Trust
The Nature Conservancy in Montana
Inland Northwest Land Conservancy
Wood River Land Trust

The Grassland Resilience and Conservation Initiative supports beef cattle ranchers who choose to voluntarily conserve their land for future generations, providing long-term food security for the nation, while solidifying critical migration corridors for the iconic wildlife species of the Northern Rockies. Heart of the Rockies is honored to support these visionary ranch families and the land trusts that partner with them to permanently protect the region’s ranching heritage, agricultural economy, and outdoor way of life.
